Thanks Paul..heh..I shot Troy with a Kodak Easy Share..2 megapix camera. I am saving my pennies for a Rebel..Theres just SO much I want to do..and I want to do it digital. My Nikon is great..but..well I'm lacking in patience with film and all. Thanks for your comments..I'll never stop creating..Never.

Hey audra, had a look at this picture again, and I like it more and more. Read your reply to Mark where you stated that you don't even have a decent camera, then had a look at your self portrait and saw you have an older, perhaps manual focus, SLR. Well, I'd call this a decent camera, that's what I use and enjoy using. On the screen, the pictures don't look as vivd as those from digital cameras, but I just started experimenting with a film scanner and photoshop, amazing what can be done... But for a good photo/portrait like this one, it depends on how you establish a connection to the model that can be felt by the viewer, and so totally not on the camera. So, keep on photographing and enjoying it.
CU,
Paul

See , I totally agree with Paul. Don't go neg on me .... BTW, Max stopped by my new one. This is like THE MAN on UF - He's SO good. Anyway, someday, when we talk, I'll solve all this for you - I'm a problem solver (except for my own little neurotic world) TTYS, Mark - 6am, gotta get some Z's.

This is a cool photo that gives a good impression what Troy might be like - and that's what doing portraits is all about. I like the composition and the angle of shooting, will also have a look at the rest of the Troy pictures.
Greetings,
Paul

No, don't say that. I see your own little style goin' and you have to remember if you don't have a studio (were you can creat your own fantasy world and shoot in the snow and rain at 2 am) or can't travel to far away places (that's what get's my photo juices going - when everything is new and different) you have these limitations but you're doing very well with what you have. You have to improvise. I had a friend that would put a giant sheet up in front of his garage door and shoot fashion shots. He started working for Detour Magazine (now Defunct I think) pretty regularly. Hang out with some photographers that have a studio. Take a class that gives you access to a studio. You have very good compo and catch people at the right moment - that's important. If you don't have that it's hard to "learn" it. I get down about alot of stuff AROUND me but I never get down about my work - you can't. As Keith Richards says,"Never Quit" (it's worked for him)

You know what Mark....sometimes I look at my work and I just think..why do I bother..? I mean..I don't even have a decent camera.. I pale in comparison to some of the ..well..MOST of the photographers here...but I just keep shooting anyway..because to stop would just be ..wrong.

OK, from looking at all 3 together this is my fav. I like the brave composition (even though maybe I'd take off a tiny bit on the right - but that would make it less brave). The dude has character + the bling adds to the shot + and he wears his hat the same way I do when I have to run out and don't feel like shampooing. So a thumbs up on Troy (being Troy). movin' on to # 2.......
