Hi Tiffany, I like the details and soft light. To me it is a bit under contrasty. Meaning, the overall range of tones is flat - leaving a lack of tonal point of interest. With this, the subject seems to blend into and be in competition with the background... Perhaps a fill flash, or a reflector adding light to the boy woudl help... Cheers! Sam

Tiff, I really like this one! His exression is so soft. You are probably like me, you want to cath his eyes because they are so pretty.... so you don't have many shots like this that don't show the eyes ;o)

I agree about the grey tones though, I think it causes his to blend too much into his surroundings rather than stand out. What do you think of this?

I just lightened it a tad and added some contrast, I think it makes him stand out more.

Nice portrait there - quite tender. I have had a hundred of these shots because my children are too impatient with my camera fumbling, but in the end they are usually the ones I like best.
I do have a suggestion, though, and it is about the contrast. The light is all a bit grey - it would definitely give the image a boost if you could brighten the shirt just a little, darken the edges just a bit more - My eye keeps wanting to go to the blob in the background near his face. Oh I am rambling. It is a beautiful peice as is. I will shut up now.
