Maybe Rebecca's right about the contrast, but it's hard to imagine a more effective presentation of the sun's brilliance. I sure would be scared to point my camera at the sun, although here's beautiful evidence that it can be done.

I think there may have been a little to much contrast here. A neutral density filter might have helped. These fuji's won't let us get any better that 1/1000 at f9 if we're lucky. It's very hard to take a straight on shot of the sun without all the contrast, although you did capture some beautiful colors. Stay warm, my friend. :)
