I can see where you were going with the lamp bulb ( I use my desk lamp all the time to give the warmer hues) but I think it's almost too strong on the one side. Grab a piece of foamcore or styrofoam for the other side to bounce some light back and it should give a nice rim light along the edge of the bottle. Also, a little hint of light on the label will make the reflection a bit stronger as well... I like using my flashlight on "spot" to highlight labels and such.
Not that I am an expert on this sort of stuff, but I've managed to play around enough to learn some tweakings.
Keep playing... I'd love to see your progress!

Dottie, thanks for your comment Most flatbed scanners have an attatchment to use with slides, if not you might be able to buy one I use an Epson 3170 Photo scanner, which has a holder for the slides If your scanner does not have the slide holder, you might be able to lay them on the scanner and just scan them like that, not sure what result you will get though. Hope this helps, cant wait to see some of your rescue slides.

I love the choice of lighting. That makes the photo. Well done. Del.

Would love to see the original, but love this dark moody feel here. The glow of the bottle's label warms the pic & gives it all a pleasant feel. Love it. BTW, do you need a special scanner for slides? I have oodles of awesame rescue shots, and would love to scan them for use. Can you give me some info? Thanks. Dottie

I bet it's wonderful on the slide. I hate that you lost detail on the scanning and decompression! Nice, elegant composition and warm colors. Very nice still life.
