About Two sisters who are friends of mine.
Taken with available light from a fire.
Yes, I know the focus is soft, autofocus cameras as well as some photographers, a k a me, have a diffcult time focusing in low light.
So, please forgive the soft focus.
I put this shot up because it shows the closeness of these two sisters, and I like the light of the fire on them.
Camera mounted on a tripod
Cable release shutter
Shutter speed, about 15sec, I think.
Aperture 3.5
Did some PS work to remove some distracting background stuff.

Jim, Although the focus is a bit soft (as you put it), it's really a lovely shot. I'd think these sisters have lots of fun together and care for one another. Nice, emotional shot. I really like this. -- Debby

Great shot Jim, I have two daughters of my own and it just reminds me of them (their closeness). I like the lighting from the fire it brings out their expressions. I have to get better with my night photos in a few weeks my daughters are having a hula show and I won't be able to use a tripod or flash. Crossing my fingers on this one.

Mood and feeling are always more important than technical perfection, in my opinion anyway. And this is a wonderful warm emotionally rich picture. Very nice.

Good shot Jim....yes i have a terrible time with my camera focusing in soft light too. So i just don't shoot in dim situations anymore, with this in mind you've done a good job with what you have acheived here.... very nice. Hope my three daughters are this close as they grow older.
cheers

Wonderful warmth to this shot, Jim! Both figuratively and literally. Love the natural lighting, and your explaination. ..Brad

A warming picture Jim.
I wonder of some of the softness comes from the heat waves from the fire?
Anyways well seen and captured.
