the 10D is certainly a more solid feeling beast than the 300 - an rugged too as I found out when I went arse over tit and watched my 24-85 smash into 1000 bits and fall in the river.... not the best moment of the weekend! I've checked my insurance docs and I can't see any reason for them not to allow a claim, well except that I only got the insurance on the 1stDec with a new comany, they may be a bit suspicious.... you had any such dealings with them?? Any advice?
As for the weekend, we got to the falls and were walking by 11 - the sky was really dull so most shots didn't even have a sky, just a water fall. Still, the colours and the shutter speeds were better for it - 15 seconds with a 2ND filter etc.
We got back to the car by 4:15, the fall was at about 4 and was going to be my last shot too...
Stopped in the Royal Oak in Settle, had a massive steak and ale pie with about 4 pints of ale - then went off to discover the rest of settlebefore returning to the pub's disco.... all 4 of us worse for wear. Eventually going upstairs at 1 or so.
Had a drive to Ribblehead, Skipton and Malham on the way back. God I missed my lens - my widest lens is no a 50-200, so not ideal.
So yeah - shame about the night shifts. We'll be doing something similar in the new year, I think we're all keen to go back if there's any snow this time too.
