About Does it get any better than this? This shot was taken a day before a big snow storm moved in. The next day there was 5 inches of snow on the ground.

This would make a fine poster. Try blurring the blue of the sky so that the colour looks more uniform.

Love the wide open effect here. The foreground appears so warm then the background appears cold with the snow. Nice work.

Jeffery: I used Photoshop. I cropped it down, then copied the entire picture by outlining it with the marquee tool. the created a new layer and then pasted the copy to it. Then did a gausian blur untill just the colors and shapes where all that was left of the detail. I darkend this layer with Image, adjust levels. Then, layers/layer style/blending options. then did a multiply with very little opacity, just a touch. This brings out the color and helps to clean up noise. I did no sharpening at all. then do a merge visible to recombine the layers.

The border is done by selecting the whole frame and then use the subtract from selection option of the marquee and adjust the feathering to your likeing. select a small amont of the photo kust inside the original border. Now copy this and creat a new layer and paste in what you copied. Now layer/layer style/satin. adjust to your liking. maybe adjust levels again on this layer, merge visable and viola... your done. play with it, have fun....

Pat-
Thank you for your advice and for the touch up. What program did you use to add to the shots presentation? It did make it look a lot sharper.

Jeffery, There are many great things going on in this Photo. The light is spectacular. The colors are great too. Don't be afraid to be daring with your photos. Learn to present them in a finished way. Pardon me for taking liberties with your work. I youched this up in just a few minutes. I am not saying this is the way it should be present just one way I might have presented it. But I do belive that presentaion isone of the most critical elements to producing a real eye catcher.
