About Another pic from Birdland. This fella was in no mood for going anywhere ~ he just sat there for ages, barely moving a feather. That's about what I'd like to do for the next week or so, but no chance?

I'll catch ya when I can,
(as the pelican said to the mackerel!)

Best regards,

Chris :o)

P.S. I was wonderin' what this might look like in B&W. What d'ya reckon?! :o)

Wonderful! And no... personally I would not like it more in b&w... I think the yellow beak looks nice to the rest.

It almost IS B&W, Chris. No problem at all... you should try monochrome sometimes!!

Great detail in the feathers Chris. Don't you just love it when the talent cooperates.Wouldn't want to get too close to that crochet hook on the end of his/her beak.

Is this a private zoo?

Regards john

Excellent capture... the detail in the feathers and the beak is awesome!
I love those times when it seems like you can snap away and the bird doesn't care less!
Again, a stunning capture!

Nice Bird. I was shooting a Blue Heron just yesterday and it never moved much either. I'ts about the only bird shot I've ever shot that was in focus.

Great details and colors Chris, I think it looks fine as is, it has a BW feel alreay because of the desaturated colors.

very nice portrait, chris :)
I think I prefer like this, although it's almost monochrome, the yellow beak gives accent to the photo
