Just for clarification. I saw, I pointed the camera, I shot. No time for any preparation to the leaves or anyting else. I had to go on and follow the group of workers.
But I too love the soft colors and the composition of this grab shot. It symbolizes that day for me.

I wanted to do a photo essay type of project and this was the opening shot I chose. The day was foggy, damp and overcast, hence the flat lighting. A grab shot with no time for reflector and since this image was taken in the middle of the shoot of the workers I didn't want to use the pop=up flash.

BTW those are chardonay grapes, hidden in the vines. This was a harvest at a Napa vineyard.
like the framing here Bill and the colors but I wished the light was not as flat...and those concord's could use more light to make them snap...nice texture here also...
