About This weed has been growing on the back fence of a swiming pool all summer. I have tried numerous times to photograph the abundance of dark purple seeds. I could never capture them because of the heavy leaves. Now with frost, the leaves have drooped. I tried again today. They are really quite impressive to see but some how become sort of drab when photographed Anyway, since I have made so many attempts, and they will soon be gone, I am posting this anyway. I will welcome suggestions as well as a name for the weed. This is not a shot I am particularly proud of.

Titia, thank you for your comment. Others suggested the same thing. Please see my reply to Margaret with attached image. Thanks again for your comment. Del.

Rebecca, thank for your suggestion. My goal was to show the profusion Of the seed groups. They are very messy to handle and stain purple anything they touch. As I walked today I noticed a white plastic bag laying on the curb and used it to take the following photo. They are attractive alone as you suggested. I didn't want to carry them home for a better view. Del.

Del I really like the image. it really shows the berries so well. It is always difficult to know which way to go. with lovely things like this. I have been looking at this wonderful red tree every time I go down the track by our house, but just know I cannot do it justice, even though it looks wonderful to me.

Margaret. Others suggested the same thing. I did try it today. You get a better view of the seed group, but you lose the sense of how thickly they are grouped over a large area which was impressive I thought. Thanks for your help see the view below. Del.

Maybe in stead of getting the whole thing, you could have tried taken a smaller part.
Nevertheless it's impressive and the first thought was WOW he has a lot of grapes hanging there. Don't know either what weed this is, but it sure looks powerfull to me. Hard to get rid of I think.

Del, why not pluck off some of the bunches and put them somewhere else in a still life? Treat them as if they were grapes or make some type abstract?

They do look like some sort of wine berry Del and Margaret's suggestion is a good one. I can't fault you for trying again and again. Actually kind of like how the light bouces off each berry.

Del if you go past again soon, try focusing on a smaller portion. YOu can see they are nice berries, but so much on one image it isn't clear. I'm not great on these things, but I wonder if they might be elderberries [makes great home made wine!!!}

Well done for trying.
It helps to be obsessive compulsive, it helps to be obsessive compulsive...
No idea what they are!
