The bird and its reflection seem to be going in opposite directions, which is cool. The blur makes me feel a bit dizzy, but truly the wings are really the most beautiful part I think.

Hi Patrick, I don't think it's the small aperture. The oscillation of the wings in the reflection is much bigger than in the wing of the real duck. Also, looking at the angle of the duck, and her proximity to the water one would expect some ripples, drops or splashes in the duck's wake. A third thing that stikes me is the angle of the reflection; judging from your POV, I think you won't see so much of the side of the ducks head in the reflection.
Not to worry, I do like this shot; and considering the lighting conditions, I think it's a very good capture, and some outstanding PS work... )

Im very happy that you think my shots keep such a high quality.. im not that sure about that myself and often get a urge to take down the pictures again.. hehe
About my picture.. I was about to photo her when she suddenly flew away.. i moved the camera after her and took 2 shots... I didnt plan to take a shot where she was flewing away so my camera wasnt properly setup for such a shot. The fact that the one wing is more unsharp then the other is due to the F2.8 i think.

Hi Patrick, I really wonder how you do it.... One prizewinning shot after another, very, very impressive.
I find the difference in motion blur between the duck and her reflection mind boggling. My gut feeling tells me, that in a single shot, the motion blur in the reflection must be equal to that of the real bird. In this case the reflection of the left wing seems to have considerably more blur than that of the real duck... I'm really curious how you did this...
Either way, a beauty... Very impressive work!
