I agree this photo has a warm feel to it. I think it's the tones - the yellows in the grass and the reds in the wood. It's really nice and if you hadn't mentioned this was an old slide, I'd have said it has a retro feel to it! Is this a common trait of Ektachrome?
The play of light and shadow in this photo is great. It's both strong with the light off the cobwebs and the perimeter shadow, and subtle with the filtered light through the bottles and on to the wood. Compositionally, I don't find this photo too unbalanced, but I do think that perhaps this could have been a wider shot, just to emphasize the "floating" feel of the window.

when I saw your image I came up with a new expression, right from my mind's eyes.. "warm horror"
Why do I say this? Can something frightening be warm?, why spider nets are connected with horrow to my mind? why warm? I do not know... sometimes I just feel, not think.
anyway i will write a conventional critique now, not to bother you with my mind's mathematics, are you ready? :
Great shot with fine warm colors that bring horror to my mind!
Oooops!!! (I love it!)

Excellent, the mood in this picture. You created some great softness in the webs. The composition could be more balanced. Sorry for not being around for a while, I'am going to catch up. Greets, Tim.

Now this conveys the northland to me ? light filtering in through the window, but rather a weak light and it could still be chilly in the house. To me it could be Sweden or Alaska. The one feature that makes the image special is the group of bottles in the window.

Hi Stefan, checked their web page but didn't see photo examples anymore. Looks like I need to shoot something and post it ;-) I have these filters but didn't use it for quite a while. I was anyway about to use more optical blur in the future. PS doesn't give me the right results. I'll let you know... C.

Wonderful photo, Stefan! There is something so powerful for me about windows - for some reason they always evoke thoughts of time and history, and this one is a wonderful illustration of that concept! The beautiful soft colos are amazing and the four bottles (and their shadows) couldn't be more perfect! This one goes to my favorites!

A travel across time... I like this old houses... Each and every brick has it's own story... Every dust grain holds a different memory... Very nostalgic... You made a point here... The ambience is right because of the tones and those bottles... hummmm... they make the photo unique... Well seen dear Engstrom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See yaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!

Thank you Burak - the scene is just as I found it - you would know if you could see the decades of dust on the bottles :-)

Wonderful colors and atmosphere. Have you ever used an WZ1 or 2 ("circular drops") from Schneider-Kreuznach (B&W)? You would get a wonderful glowing and blur on an image like that. However, great shoot and I like it a lot! C.

I like the natural framing, but also how there is still detail in the window textures, even though it's so bright. Really nice composition with the heavy lines and transparent bottles... really intirguing. The hint of colour with the bottles and the grass outside is nice as well. It adds an antiquey feel to this shot.

Hi Stefan, Classic image; very well captured. I do like the natural framing; but I think some more space below and above the window would've created a tad more balance in the frame. The tones, however, are very good. Very good shot.
Cheers,
Hugo

Such old tuch. Jag gillar den med allt spindelnät och gamla flaskor i ett fönster där ljuset inte kan lysa in starkt, utan ljuset silas genom spindelnätet och det blir mjukt. Ett gammaldags intryck..... Snyggt. Och från Sverige dessutom!
