Great looking dog!

The most important thing with animal portraits is the eyes. If the eyes are out of focus you miss out on capturing the life of the animal and they come across looking a little like a stuffed toy.

I think your auto focus has focused on the nose. Don't be afraid to switch it to manual.

Apart from that the exposure and composition are great. )
