About On the way back from our fishing trip, Jon took me to see a river that he fishes for pike. This was taken there ~ it's around 4 miles from our home.

Best regards to all,

Chris

lovely scene .. and you have nicely captured it.
the river works as a great eye guide.
the foam floating on the river makes it more interesting to the eyes.

well done, Chris :)

Yes, Chris, Hasselblads are falling in price, but still have a long way to go before they are within reach of the likes of you or I.

Yes, it is fairly bright, isn't it?! ;-) One of my weaknesses I'm afraid. Not much chance of a Hasselblad though, Roger, as another of my weaknesses is my bank balance!!
Best regards, Chris

The saturation is just a bit too much for me, Chris. I notice you're using quite a few square frames recently. Any particular reason for that? Any secret yearnings for a Hasselblad?

Lovely - it is very gentle, nothing stands out, but everything is together - I guess that is double dutch, [but it is a compliment] like a fine painting

Looks like you were standing in the water to get this shot. Worth getting wet for I guess. Nice scene Chris.

Going fishing is not a matter of life & death...
It's much more important than that.

The worst days fishing is a thousand times better than the best day at the office.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.
Give a man a fishing rod and you turn him into a liar.

The best fishing anywhere in the world was always one hour before you arrived.

Regards John

Beautiful area with the meandering stream. Makes you want to take your shoes off and cool the toes a while. Don.

Thanks for your comment, Keith.
I take your point but, as a matter of interest, what would you do in such a situation. Would you take the shot, or not?
If you did, and there was nothing to 'close it in' on one side, would you add something afterwards? I find this a difficult one and am hoping you can help me resolve it. :-)
Thanks,
Chris

Keith Naylor   {K:13064} 11/1/2004
Beautiful as usual, however .... (couldn't let you get away with too many perfect images) ... it feels a little 'open' on the left hand side. The expanse of green and the empty sky, just need something to close them in.
