About In the elementals mythology salamanders are the spirits of the fire. This is my personal idea/depiction of them; there are only few efforts to depict them as they differ from the 3 other elementals. Some painters depict them as flames though.

HI Mary, these salamanders are great! I had the nice discovery of seeing what they were once they were enlarged. They really look like spirits of fire. The hand and partial face really make it. - db

hey, i really like this series! gorgeous colours, movement and vitality. the hand in the upper corner though loses the abstractness of this composition. but that's just me liking abstraction!

I really like the hand in the upper right hand corner and all the lovely orange texture. Defiently has a scaley feel to me.

Hands and bodies moving as if their time has come to an end.Spasmodic movements before vanishing into thin air...

Hi Mary
These two recent photos of yours in addition to those with long exposure,semi/fully close-up shots all remind me of different embryos, mainly of humans'.
Might they have some thing to do with your birthday? I wonder!
Many happy returns,any way.
Baha

thank you Verena!! Kostas...xm!!
I celebrated my birthday in a pale lazy way, we got a little out today to feel the sun (the hot thing you mentioned) and then melted at home! Thanx for the wish!

Tony, salamanders in mythology are the spirits of fire and have nothing to do with the real salamanders. They are fire elementals. I hope I explained it a bit!! Thanx for the kind comment!

A beautiful lady with her extravagant dress singing out to the world. A bit of life and death in this for me. Wonderful color and blur, nicely done~

Strange how these beautiful creatures are associated with fire;your best hope of ever seeing one is to head out into their mountain habitat when it's raining hard and, preferably at night, with a powerful torch, and then,if you are really lucky you might just find one!Not everyone's idea of fun but I did it once and I was lucky!Regards,Tony.
