About You learn something new every day.. and today I learned an important fact concerning "barns". As in the past.. I drove right by this scene.. and turned around and came back. I went up to the main house and asked the owner is I may photograph the barn and horses. It was o.k. .... I couldn't control the scene with the horses walking around and had to stay outside the fence. There were five animals in all. The owner came out and told me he almost had to put the white one "down" .. because of "mold". Seems the mold in an ordinary barn will give the animals a condition called"heaves" .. a breathing difficulty .. that is terminal. Research has found out .. that if you remove the animal from the barn..... they will not contract this condition. Therefore.. the owner built this barn with a walk through as shelter.. and
hay" and grain is stored enclosed in both sides. He called it a "heaver" barn.

Very interesting Bill, I remember as a kid when they talked of horses with the heaves. I knew it was a lung disorder but didn't know what had caused it. Nice work. Don.

Very nice shot, Bill! The horse really stands out against the greens of the trees and grass of the corral. I'm glad they didn't have to put it down! The weathered "barn" really adds a lot of interest in the background.
