In this case, you can use indirect flashing (with an external flash).

the bluring was not intentional, but i can't remember why the photo didn't come out as sharp as it should have.. probably something to do with low light, because i don't think i had the flash turned on [i didn't want the harshness of the flash, but the ambient light from the window apparently wasn't bright enough!]
