About I took this as fishing at sunset last evening. I think all sailors shoud be happy with the "red sky at night". I would like to take just a little glare off the reflection in the water, when I get photo editing will I be able to do that with out changing the rest of the photo?

Den, Well I do have the ability to rotate now, I was so interested in the colors, until you called it to my attention I never realized the horizon needed straightening. I just looked and you are so right. Del.

There's a way you do that with the camera...

What if you don't have a separate meter or a way to control your camera's aperture and shutter speed? As long as your camera has auto-exposure lock, you can still bracket...only you'll do so by "fooling" the camera. Here's how... First, point your camera at the sunset and take the indicated exposure. Second, point your camera at the ground where it's darker, lock the exposure, recompose on the sunset, and take another exposure. Third, turn around and point the camera at the sky, lock the exposure, turn around, recompose on the sunset, and take another photograph. You should now have three different exposure settings for the sunset!

Hi Del. Yes you should soon be able to do that, know what I mean? Not to be critical but you'll also be able to adjust tilted horizons/waterlines.
Margaret suffered that prob but she's overcoming now at shooting stage.
Now about this pic. It is GORGEOUS!!! I like the reflection in the water as it is. It truly reflects the sky. Maybe just my personal taste though.

Del, this is beautiful! If your camera isn't equipped to take filters, which many aren't, you can also hold up a pair of polarized sunglasses in front of lends, or even tape on a polarizer, which would cut down on the amount of glare that you get on a shot like this. I love it like it is though!

Wow!! Del, you nailed this. You captured a gorgeous sunset. They are several ways to change only a small portion of an image with editing software. I brought your image down and used the magic wand tool in my PhotoImpact to select the portion of the water with the suns reflection and then used tone mapping to decrease the light in that section. I agree with Christine that your photo is outstanding as is

Del this is outstanding. Spectacular colours, stunning shimmering water. A glorious sunset. One way to take a bit of the glare off when you get editing software will be with the clone tool. You can clone the water over the part of the reflection that you want to soften. A smudge tool might work too, not sure on that one though. I think this is magnificent as it is. You done good.
