About Shot taken of El Castillo, the main pyramid at Chitchen Itza, Yucatan Peninsular, Mexico. July 2004
I have only recently taken up photography as a hobby and am painfully aware just how obvious this is from my current work. This shot was also my first ever attempt at B&W - back to the drawing board!

'Only just taken up photography as a hobby...'

Why, until quite recently, this would have been regsarded as something of a masterpiece!

Good capture.

I like geometric photos and I like black and white, so this is an interesting photo, for me.
It would be nice to try with different crops, perhaps even in square, I attach a sample of what I mean.
Ciao!!
Guido

I think back to the drawing board is a little harsh as mounted in a frame this could sit on any wall. It has a symetrical postcard feel to it and could probably do with a little more contrast but the sky has detail in it and that is the main thing.

If i were to have a go at shooting this myself i would probably have included somthing in the foreground to add a little interest there but i like the fact it's scale is clearly visible in the way that you have shot it like this. It appears truly massive.

Judging by the lack of shadows it seems this could have been taken at midday. i know it's a long way but why not pop back and snap it at first or last light and see what you get then... )
