This was my first portrait shot ever. Taken last saturday by the water in Eglisau, Zürich. She is a photograher too and the girlfriend of a good friend from me. I ask her once, to make some portaits, just to lear and have some fun ;) And now, here we are... At this day, the light was very bright. It was not easy to make a good picture. Thanks for looking, any critique and tips are welcome!
Lowering the green channel's opacity to around 15%,
Duplicating the green channel and bringing its opacity back to 100% because the eyes looked best and were worth adding in later,
Merging green and red together, then painting green two's eyes back in with a soft edged 20% opacity brush on a layer mask, and finally
Flattening the image, and using Russell Brown's "paint with sharpen" technique on a blurred layer at about 45% opacity to emphasize details.
I didn't do any clone brushing at all since 90% of the blemish detail was in the blue channel. It took longer to write this comment than to edit the image.
