About So glad yesterday was my day off, it's pouring down with rain here now!!

Here's a shot from inside Wells Cathedral. It's far from perfect as I had a lot of work to do to try and get the pillars perfectly perpendicular!! I failed, I'm afraid, but at least this will give you some idea of the incredible architecture that awaits the visitor!!

The mind boggles when you think about the length of time it must have taken to build the place and the number of skilled craftsmen who must have been involved!!

I hope you like this one. The lighting was tricky as it was a really sunny day and there was harsh sunlight streaming through the huge windows into some areas that were nonetheless still pretty dark!! Added to which, some of the pillars are floodlit!!

Best regards to all, Chris

Chris, the last trace of "problem" with the verticals doesn't look like perpendicularity, to me. It looks more like very, very slight barrel distortion. Much less than with your Fuji (the lens on the D70 is a cracker!). But this hardly detracts at all from the multiple perspectives of the arches. A very fine shot indeed. I noticed and admired it when it first went up, but this is the first chance to make a proper comment.

I have not been on site for a few days Chris and you have another page full of great images posted. I particularly like the composition and your treatment of the light. Very nice three dimensional feel. Regards John

Hi Chris, Very nice interior shot. Shooting wide angle does give the distortion, which is not always bad, as it also gives a good feeling of size.... Well exposed, and thanks for telling your sory!

Cheers,

Hugo

It's hard to photograph the interior of buidings. I think you've succeeded in doing it well.
You've captured the beauty of the church's architecture.
Very nice work.

So like wow ! This is some kind of building. Grat capture, Perpendicular is impossible without a PC ( perspective control) lens and you won't find any autofocus ones available. But they do correct convergence.
Just a great shot Chris.

What a breathtaking photograph Chris!!
Yes, I can see the lighting must have made this shot extremely difficult. However, you've handled it well.

Just beautiful architecture here, it DOES boggle the mind thinking of the building of this place.

Really looking forward to seeing the others!!
Very nice work,
Lori :)

Una iluminacion suave muy bien aprovechada y perfectamente equilibrada en todo el conjunto de la imagen. La riqueza de detalles arquitectonicos guardan una gran armonía. Un gran trabajo.

Saludos desde bilbao
