You're right Lori, it was on July 31, the second full moon in July, hence "blue moon".

Artistic license? You mean that isn't the way the moon appears over Alberta? I am disillusioned!
Well, this is as good as the scenery in most high budget sci-fi movies. I like the multi-point star contrasted with the familiar moon. I personally think we sometimes get too involved with frames rather than the image, but that's just me.
