About Specially for Margaret Sturgess :-)

Mother-in-law's crystal bowl in natural light against black velvet. I placed a hologram disc underneath the bowl (which stood on a pane of glass, raised off the surface of the table) and used a lot of reflectors to get more light bouncing onto the bowl.

A lot of credit goes to my bright-spark HB for his suggestions and assistance :-)

Next I want to try some Swarovski - that should give some sensational play of light.

Stunning work Linn. The bounce of colour and light is superb. I am really looking forward to seeing the Swarovski. That is quite an ingenious set-up you have going there.

Hi Linn,
I just wrote you a long comment and then forgot (i think) to "add comment" so here goes again.
Nice work, i love the way you are pushing yourself creatively and the results are showing - keep it up! Looking forward to seeing the Swarovski pics. I know someone that works for them here in Switzerland and i'll send her a photo of yours if that is OK with you? You only need to pay me 10% if anything comes out of it :)
Just joking.
Best wishes from Switzerland
Neil

Linn, First of all apologies for not getting back to you sooner, computer probs, plus 'crisis of confidence' nearly ready to call it a day with computers and photography. Hopefully both on the way to recovery!!!!! This shot is just so fantastic, and your set up is amazing. I admire your creativity both in finding ways to set things up as well as the photos themselves. The butterfly's of mine are Swarovski, I will sort a shot of one of my clowns, lousy shot, but have captured some sparkles.

Now all you need are some jelly beans. Outstanding shot Linn. I feel like Oliver..please ma'am can we have some more. You know if you taught your tricks of the trade to others and charged a bit you could get that camera your dreaming of. Just a thought.

And Jim ... it also makes for a good chuckle too? :-))) How about that Tupperware?! Robert's idea! I would have chosen some glassware but frankly, was too lazy to go get it! The HB is a great help and excellent source for solutions to problems - just wish he had the $$'s for a D70! Oops! I promised him I would not nag again! I will get my Z3 when it gets to South Africa :-)

Here's my set-up - forgot to mention that I also had a mirror reflecting more light onto the bowl.
