mary, wonderful capture here! I too really like this shot in black and white and I think colors in this shot would have taken away from it. love the way you filled up the frame as well. Perfect shutter speed !!

congrats.....

Thank you Marcus. It was fun to be out downtown and traffic all around wondering what I was doing.

Cause I wasn't even sure myself. Hee!

Thanks everyone for your comments. It is quite nice to see and hear opinions. It isn't often that I had the ability to share my pixs with so many people how have the same interest. Very cool!

Hello Dennis,

sure I'd love to see your version in color. I played around with adding color to this shot but found I actually like the B & W aspect of it.

:)

this is a nice image. i'm an old tri-x fan and am impressed with this being a night photograph. it has good tonal range and movement. you might be interested in my color version of our flag. i wanted to express some of its more aggressive characteristics and used camera movement. what do you think? dennis

I'm with Jim, you just can't go wrong with Old Glory.

I think the night timing adds a good mood and the blur shows movement well. Good work, and a much better start than I.

Cheers

My middle son appreciates it...my daughter salutes the effort...my oldest son, talking on the radio....acknowledeges it...my wife blinks more than twice...and I, yes, I...tell you, ya can never go wrong when ya take a pic of the stars and stripes.
