Went back a little and this caught My eye Lori! The composition and especially the colors of the umbrellas really stand out! I like how the umbrellas cross diagonaly thru the frame! They lead the eye to the bridge in the background. Very pleasing image! Take care Lori!....John
Ps. My favorite song on the cd is "Last night"
Its written by My pastor Steve Rahter and also sung by Him!He wrote it for an unsaved Friend of His! Listen to the words it's really emotional! Thanks again for Your kind comments!.....John

Hi Gil,
Thanks so much for this bit of info...I read at the Canon site (and other sites as well) that the G2 is not good with IR, so never tried. Glad to hear from someone who knows about the G2 from experience. I am going to order one TODAY!!!

Thanks again,
Lori :)

Wonderful color and composition, Lori.
The G2 is sensitive to IR. Use a Hoya R72 filter. Expect longer than usual exposures. I owned a G2 and produced many IR images. Bright sun on green works well. My G5 can't see IR if it's life depended on it. But my Minolta D1 loves IR. Later models do not.

We took our three boys to visit my sister and brother-in-law at Corpus Christi a few years ago, and one memorable day they took us to San Antonio. We all loved the river walk, but I don't remember the colours of the sunshades/umbrellas being QUITE that bright. My memory is more like film than digital images, perhaps... [g] But this is surely a beautiful and most evocative image!

This is an outstanding picture. Once you add the element of rain to River Walk it gives it a whole new dynamic.

I was only there a few times and it has come a long way since then.

I fooled around with it a little bit in photoshop to bring out the water and the reflections of the umbrellas, but otherwise perfect to my eye.

Beautiful design and mood.

Regards, Bill

oh.. wooww
hi Lori

a magnific and simple diagonal umbrella's...
have a great atmosphere and just one composition.. perfect for a "city effects"...
down the umbrellas have a peoples.
also the DOf with the focousing centered in the frame is good.
the game of the close-up and the BG, little out of focus, is great effect in one a day of rain...
a simpatic shot!
cheers
roby

Hi Bill,
Yes, you are right.

It's especially attractive to have a triad of red or yellow. Same thing is also true (not necessarly in triads) for pure black. This is always good in room decorating as well, just a 'touch' of black somewhere is attractive.

All these little things sure figure in.
Hope you're having a good evening!
Lori :)

Glad you like the photograph!

BILL MAHLER   {K:5882} 7/13/2004
Hey Lori .. I like this alot ... a really super colorful Image. The composition .. angle .. excellent. It has "punch". There is a technical reason for what I am to tell you ..and you may already know it. It is this: Always try to somehow..somewhere include the colors ..red.and/or both .. yellow .. in the photograph. These two colors have to be activated during the exposure. The green is in the grass .. the blue is in the sky. You have to know the spectrum colors and light .. to understand this. Forgive me Lori .. if you are aware of this .. It's just a tip. :)

Warm Regards ...... Bill

It's a great time to click away, makes those wet colours sing out in defiance. Shows importance of always having a camera to hand. Nice.
