Magnificant image; how beautiful.
Being a street photographer, and a night photographer, all rolled into one, I can appreciate how great your photos are.
What makes it more interesting is that you used the D70; I have that camera but haven't used it much lately.
Would you mind writing to me an e-mail, describing your techniques, includinthe "white Balance setting?
Thanks for sharinf; it gives me inspiration!

Per "istituzione" sono sempre critico, ma propositivo
La foto e' composta in modo perfetto con un buon equilibrio tra i vari elementi: cielo, edifici, riflessi si armonizzano perfettamente.
L'unico appunto, ma piu' che un appunto e' uno stimolo, e' che se l'avessi fatta prima che il cielo diventasse nero cupo, ma alla famosa e bellissima ora blu, al crepusco avresti avuto almeno un paio di vantaggi:
- un cielo piu' interessante e che contribuiva alla bellezza dell'immagine
- la luminosita' ancora esistente avrebbe aiutato anche l'esposizione, riempendo un po' le ombre ed evitando che i lampioni diventassero cosi' presenti

Gorgeous--as always. The long exposure is very effective. Was the "VR" on or off during this shot. I read that using this technology with a tripod confuses the system and can lead the blurring. Obviously--if the VR was "on," it didn't hurt this image.
I must return to Florence!

Ponte vecchio. I probably told ther that I've been there more than once, tasted my first frulatte there, but never seen it lovely like this, dear Antonella, lit excacltly the right amount and with clear reflections, as if wind did not exist.
You're the first to comment on a photo I took after coming home from the Danuba trip. Thank you for that.

Today is a full moon , you can capture a blue sky at late night, all you need is to trick the white balance :) ....

Looks like we are in the same brian wave , as I got also the D70 for the same reason ( cleaning the CCD which take at least 3 days to send it to Roma and got it back ) ,, next week I'll be in Firenze for 1 night and I'll try some night shots :) , Best Regards

Hi Hassan,thank you for your comment! Well,yes,I got the D 70 as a second body because it's so easy on both cameras ( D 100 and D 70 ) to have dust and other small dirt on the CCD,thing for which you have to return it to the Nikon service. I sold the Coolpix 5700 and a few other things to finance this camera and I am quite pleased with it. I think that the new CCD is better than the D 100. It's a bit amateurish,but it doesn't matter to me since I've always shot with aperture priority ( unless there is action involved ) with all my cameras. The body is strong enough.
Talking about the blue hour...yes,that is the time I prefer but in this particular shot it's almost impossible since I placed the tripod on the public street which is very crowded even at night. So I had to wait until very late. Many kisses,Antonella :)

So you got the D70 ! :) , a well composed shot Antonella , the relection looks as part of the bridg ,, what do you think if you take the same shot few time before full dark , what we call the twilight as you well get a very nice blue dark sky which will work perfect with the colors ( yellow) in forground , any way it's a good shot , Brava
