this is quite a cool photo... a difficult shot to make work. The dark area below the head is so important for the balence. Excellent eye. Congrats on this one Tony. Cheers, Bartock

Thanks for your comment Amanda,I'm glad you enjoyed the image.It is ,in fact, just one main photo to which I've added a selected area from another photo to make the sky a little more dramatic.After selecting the head and saturating it a little I then made the rest of the image black and white and added a little grain and selective blur.

that's amazing. it almost looks like 2 pictures spliced together with the foreground and background being so contrasting. It really depicts the mood. Beautiful.

... and you know what? It came out great! Wouldn't have been great if you had managed to include a crow about to land on the stone head? Well... that would have require divine intervention. ;-)
