About It always seems to rain when I'm in Paris but with an umbrella in one hand and my camera in the other I managed to snatch this shot in the Les Halles district.

Great shot. Perfect composition, interesting perspetive and lovely tones.

Both the statue and the building (a curch) behind it are surprisingly in focus. Well done.

this is quite a cool photo... a difficult shot to make work. The dark area below the head is so important for the balence. Excellent eye. Congrats on this one Tony.
Cheers, Bartock

Thanks for your comment Amanda,I'm glad you enjoyed the image. It is ,in fact, just one main photo to which I've added a selected area from another photo to make the sky a little more dramatic. After selecting the head and saturating it a little I then made the rest of the image black and white and added a little grain and selective blur.

that's amazing. it almost looks like 2 pictures spliced together with the foreground and background being so contrasting. It really depicts the mood. Beautiful.

Nice dramatic image. It rains most of the time when I'm there as well :)

... and you know what?
It came out great!
Wouldn't have been great if you had managed to include a crow about to land on the stone head?
Well... that would have require divine intervention.
;-)
