This was not a good shot, I thought the colors and subject were interesting, that's why the frame. I hated to throw the shot away... Now of course the flower is dead. I guess I'll have to wait for the next bloom.

This guy was still growing outside in a pot. I don't have any out side lighting other than a street light. Most of my flower shots are right out of our yard....

Excellent job with the framing, but the image of the flower is very starkly lit. A more diffuse lighting situation probably would do wonders for this image. Even if taken at night, setting up multiple light sources would help create a more even lighting of your subject. Fun experimental shot.
