Love it. Alien lava-octopus swimming in the heart of the space volcano. "Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor not a xeno-geologist!"

Hi Linn,

What a wonderful photo!! It looks very nice as as it looks unreal. Like a scifi creature from somewhere else about to jump out of the screen.

Congrats,

Be seeing you...

Raamses.

If you ever lose this photo, you can find it again in my favourite!

It is amazing! The flower is very original, and coming this close it's like looking into another world! And there it's lips in middle coming up and want to kiss! Same time a lot of arms with golden glowing fingers are waving to me to come even closer!

Fantastic and so beautiful!

Remarkable color, DOF, and sharpness, along with an unusual floral subject, make this a stand-out picture. The flower just seems to glow. Great job!

hi,dear linn
this is a wonderful shot that's going straight into my favorites.
love the gradient red, the texture and the so many striking details. brilliantly captured subject, my congratulations.
shame i have been missing so many wonderful posts of yours. i hope i can make up for it soon.
thanks so much for caring, i'm ok now. still on pain killers all day though, and very frustrated cause i have my right shoulder, shoulder blade and arm broken and i can't do a thing with my left hand, not even type properly, let alone shooting. it will take a while before I am fully functional again on uf. meanwhile i will be sitting here admiring your new posts and i plan to soon be writing comments again even if i will be slow.

hugs - emgy

I know the feeling, I am very happy with the Nikon 995 and it takes some lovely macros. But I fancy an SLR (I miss the Canon T90) and need the extra pixels so I can make so posters up for around the house. Just hope I don't make a mistake selling the 995 for the DSLR.

Yeah, it is downright scary :-)

Did I tell you that the other day I wandered over to the "big boys' toys" (ie. the Nikons, etc.) when we were at a photographic shop? Robert went PALE!!!! Now we are talking big bucks! I'm still waiting for my ship to come in :-))

Till then, we will play nicely with the little Z1 :-))

Linn Currie   {K:24426} 6/16/2004

You're full of it today, aren't you just?

I'm busy with my final assignment for this level of Elements. Have to make a "wanted" poster! Yup, had the HB posing like a mean machine. Afterwards, he said "I don't want to see this on UseFilm".

Now I ask you Chris - would I ever do such a thing? To my sweet husband? Huh? Me? Never! Ooops! I might just! Yeah, I might just - because when I downloaded his images, he wanted to know whether they were in focus! WHAT????!!!

Let me finish me 5th, or is it the 6th? cuppa! Talk about overdosing!!

:-))

Linn

Morning Rawabi

I'm replying here, as there might be other people too wondering about our country. Any country is as safe as how you behave. If you are going to act like a tourist and flash your jewellery, money, cameras, etc. around, then you are looking for trouble. There are great articles on the www on how to act safe and stay safe in any country.

I highly recommend that you search the www and look for bed & breakfast accommodation as there are exceptional places like that down in the Cape. I also strongly recommend that you make use of guided tours because Cape Town and the surrounding areas are incredibly beautiful and you need somebody that knows the "wheres & whats" to show you what our country offers.

Something else I would recommend is to contact the S.A. Embassy and ask them for more information.

If you are travelling all the way to South Africa, then it is a MUST that you visit some game parks as well. I can highly recommend the Pilanese Game Reserve. You will see the Big Five, plus multiple other animal species, right there. Luxurious, obviously, and totally worth the money. And while you are there, The Lost City is right on your doorstep and that is a MUST SEE too :-)

John Barclay is doing a short photographic tour to South Africa in August. He has no idea what a spectacular treat he is in for! :-)
