Thank you for sharing..I work with people of low income in San Antonio,but I know our poverty does not compare..I am very glad that the people who live in such conditions are still able to find joy in life..I also know that it is the people of this nation that cause so much of the suffering through out the world..I hope you are enjoying your stay in Dallas..whenever you get a chance please share more about your photos..this is a good web site and I have made a few new friends from all over the world..

Thanks, Sonny. This photo was taken in a Quilombo, a place where the fugitive slaves lived. Their descendants still live in the same place. Until 2 years ago they didn`t have electricity and running water. But you should see the people who live there. Full of joy.
That is Brazil. now I live in Dallas. People here are very different from brazilian people and I miss that.

Marta, essa é uma imagem forte, apesar da risada da menina. As quatro mãos no topo dão conta de uma multiplicidade esquecida no dia a dia, levam a pensar que todos são iguais. Porém, depois, ao analisar a parte inferior da foto, vê-se que a igualdade é só aparente, e ainda que retrate a simplicidade de ambos, são simplicidades diferentes. Acho que a fotografia e a sociologia são experiências (não ciências) que andam juntas.
