About This is KC, a six year old Seal Mitted Ragdoll. She is one of the first that we imported.

The most obvious difference between a Mitted Ragdoll and a Birman (Sacred Cat of Burma) is that the Birman must have a dark chin, and the Mitted Ragdoll must have a white chin. Then of course, there are other difference in type, but if ever you are not sure whether it is a Birman or Ragdoll, look for the chin colouring.

Bill, I would love to see your Leon. Any chance of getting a nice image of him?

Did you know that I fell in love with the Ragdoll breed, just because I laid eyes on a picture? At that time there were no Ragdolls in South Africa and the first ones arrived in 1997. I have imported 12, all from the USA and hope to bring over a new boy from the UK in the future. Plenty money, considering the exchange rate.

Go shoot Leo! :-)

Linn, I have a Himalayan that looks similar to this guy. Just love the species. I used to have an older Himalayan (WooLoo)that someone abandoned down the block and had to put him to sleep last year,as he was about 16+ years old. Now I have "Leo" who is about 2 years old. Once you have a special breed you can't get away from them. Love this pic!

Absolutely beautiful portrait. My dog is sitting here asking me " why don't you take shots of me like this? Am I not glamorous? " lol

Christine, thank you for the wonderful compliment!

No, not a professional photographer, just a keen amateur photographer :-) I think I got a feel for photographing cats because I have done thousands of shots of my own kittens and cats. I am very keen on photographing some solid coated cats (coloured coated cats) because they have such a richness of tones, patterns and of course the eye colour is so different than just the blue of the Ragdolls.

But to go professional ... mmmm ... I'd rather keep it at it as a hobby and enjoyment :-)

Thanks again.

Thank you John. I am quite pleased with the images I got of KC - she is my most difficult cat model.

Beautiful kitty, astonishing eyes, she is absolutely gorgeous. Are you a pet photographer? If not, you definitely should be, because this is professional quality.

dear linn, very distinguished and serious lady, the only missing thing is a feathered hat around her head and a fur around her shoulder. great shot as always. and thank you for all the information you are providing, before that, the only thing i knew about this lovely cats was their gentel nature and blue eyes. i have red that they have had siamian and persion ancestors, anf if that is true, no wonder that i am in love with them, it can be blood attraction for i am iranian myself.

KC is a she :-)

I only had half a tail in the frame and thus the tight butt crop :-)

Looks like he (she?) is asking for a treat, Linn?!
Amazing eyes!
Kind regards, Chris
P.S. Looks like you may have cropped it a little too tight on the right?

Jimmy, you read KC like a book :-) She is my shy Ragdoll ... will sit on the armrest of my chair but will never come sit in a lap. She always has the paw up - because there is not a door in our house that is allowed to be shut so that little paw is always ready to scratch at a door or point at a closed door! She also always looks serious, very serious :-) She has the most amazing eyes but let me bring that camera out and she acts out her "Shy Di" image :-)

What did you pay her to pose so cute for you?:-)) I love how she has her left paw raised and that very serious look on her face. Beautiful portrait work, Linn.
