I use natural light. I pull all the curtains open. I take my shots about 11am when the sunlight hits this particular room.

Wow, this takes my breath away! What a cutie! And the colour of the background really emphasizes his softness and the colour of his eyes.
I love the pose as well... with those little paws crossed like he could do no wrong!
The tighter framing here works well to make the main focus that face... truly, you have a winner here!
What do you use for lighting? It's so soft and even... I'd love to know for when I try more inside dog shots.

Die foto's gaan miskien in 'n Suid Afrikaanse kat tydskrif gebruik work. Die redakteur het gevra dat ek foto's moet instuur wat tesame met 'n artikel oor die Ragdoll (deur my geskryf) gepubliseer word. Ek het vandag van die ouer Ragdolls gefotografeer, en sal miskien daarvan op Usefilm pos. Sal moet sien of ek enige goeies gekry het :-)

Elahe, I will never laugh at that statement - because I know the feeling. One has to have a passion for animals, if one wants to breed them. There are many breeders all over the world that does it for the money. For us, the joy of raising these healthy and loving kittens, and the joy of the new owners, are our rewards. No other reason :-)
From now on, the blue eye colour will fade somewhat. Then, at around the age of ten months or so, it starts deepening again. The Ragdoll takes four years to mature and up to two years for full colouring to come in.

dear linn, don't laugh or think i am mad person, but seeing your angels bring to me this wish: "if i was their cat mother....", you know there is something in their eyes and look (being sooo blue and sooo deep), which make you to do what ever they want to. all their photos are added to my favorites.

ohhh Linn, he's the cutest thing... i'm holding myself not to start cooing at work! lol... my hand is aching to cuddle him and carry him on my shoulder and walk around, just like i used to do to my kits when they were his age! ;-) now they's so used to it that sometimes they act like babies..! whining and meowing untill i carry them on my shoulder and walk around the room...! lol

Chris, come over here and spend a morning with us - you will leave "cat converted" and I will have to search your bags to make sure you didn't kitnap any of my babies :-)
I worked hard at trying to get decent images of the little ones. They are now in a totally obnoxious state where they want down to investigate, jump, move around - anything but look at the camera. If anybody wants 200 odd kitty butt pics, I can send them to you :-)
Robert told me a funny story this morning. He saw the momcat with a big moth in her mouth and he chased after it to take it away. She jumped into her kitten room, sat down, opened her mout to meow and the moth flew out :-) Wish I was there to see it! Don't know whether Robert wanted the moth to photograph or what ... :-))
