Dear Biliana, many, many, many, many, many ... thanks for your nice comments ;-) Your portfolio and especially your close-up's are incredible - good.
Regarding your question, please follow this link and this page will show you the function of extension tubes... http://www.toledo-bend.com/gallery/index.asp?request=ExtTube
I have both, extension tubes and macro lenses and the extension tubes are very helpful and easy to use (they can be combined with all lenses).
Regards, Gerry

wow...Fantastic photograph Gerhard! I had no idea a dandelion could POSSIBLE look so good!
EXCELLENT photograph! Love the composition, I can't figure what it is 'sprouting' on... or even the base of the dadelion, it's so different, must be a different kind where you live! But, VERY NICE !! Lori :)

Dear Dan, thank you very much for your comment. I'm trying it also with all of my lenses and the results are very interesting. Your idea with the 28mm is very good. I never tried it before ... so I know now what I have to do ;-)

I like your extension tube work,I am new to using them.I am trying them with every lens I own.I like them most with my 75-300mm because I have some degree of control over focus., But you cant beat the magnification of combining it with a 28mm lens. The wide angle give you pretty good DOF.

Well if I can believe that you didnt't pluck the pos to leave only 1 seed then you are a very lucky photograher :-) Seriously though thi is well done with good epth of field usage and well exposed - perhaps if the opporunity was there to have the seed pod less than central.
