Roger, I SWEAR I caught a whiff of the scent of roses as my eyes moved down from the bright but blurred attention-grabber (upper right) to the darkly beautiful and sharply focused rose at lower left. This is a beautiful evocation of the rose, even if the saturation IS a Canon digital high.

Hi Roger, Very well balanced composition. I only wish the DOF would've been a tad wider. The out of focus orangy rose gives the impression the entire photo is a bit soft (which it obviously isn't). Another option would've been to make the DOF even more shallow, that would've also solved the softness issue (IMO), but I have a feeling it is somewhere in between as it is now.
