I really struggle with flower photos, so am impressed with your work. The crop is very well thought out, some people would have been tempted to include the full bloom, but restricting the crop to bottom and centre has really worked well.
I also really quite like the frame, it does go quite well with the subject.
Well done

I love silly moods, Chris! And I love flower photos, and I also love THIS flower photo! So beautiful colours and really lovely cute & romantic composition!
I see you have turned off the rating. Perhaps a good idea, it doesn't seem to work properly and it's really no fun when it never shows the true rating anymore. I'm just waiting for them to fix it, but they said "24" hours a few days ago and since then no news and ratings still screwed up.

Hi Chris, you have a geat capture here. I love the 3D effect created by the lighting and the framing. I'm not usually a fan of such "strong" frames although i have been known to indulge a little myself in this, but i think you have really struck it well here Chris, my compliments - Neil

Hi Chris, Considering a triptych, hey? two by them selves could make a crowd if you'd add a third....;o)
On a more serious note, considering the flawless capture you show us with this one, I still tend to believe there's some noise in the first one. Ofcourse, that's beside the issue here.
I like the erratic bends in the petals on the lower part of the flower. They break the centered and static composition beautifully. I also like the saturated colours. A very refreshing and creative approach! The high level of details does differ from the previous one, and are unmistakably very well captured.
I'd really appreciate if you could give me some advise on the floral I posted today. I shot it 5 years ago, but as I rarely photograph flowers, I'm far form an expert....
Cheers,
Hugo

WOW, what a superb macro, Chris. Your view angle, the lighting and of course this original framing give a great 3D effect to the picture. A real beauty and technically flawless. My compliments. Regards, Günter.
