About I developed a technique for doing Butterfly images that works very well. I Catch them, then put them in the refrigerator for 15 minutes and cool them down. The come out of the fridge and move real slow like after a cold night. I can then pose them on a flower and take a shot or two. They warm up and fly away after about 45 seconds but its enough time to get really close with out them moving . I took this shot from 5 inches away.

You do WHAT? I thought you were joking and laughed at first, but then I realised that you really do it! Poor butterfly, must be scared to death..! Ehh... maybe I'm to "girly" feeling sorry for a butterfly... ;-) But it does sound quite cruel!

It's a wonderful photo, of this interesting and beutiful butterfly with these strange original colours! Very good!

Tremenda foto, me gusta mucho el detalle de las antenas, ojos y patas... colores fuertes y pasteles. Los tonos violetas me encantan, saludos!! :-)

WOW, Dan, this photograph is absolutely SPECTACULAR!!! One of the most stunning ones I've seen of butterflies! I love this composition, the dark background, flowers nicely out of focus...VERY NICE WORK.

Lori ;)

ps...your method still lets me out, don't see many butterflies in San Diego at all!

Beautiful composition with lovely colors and excellent detail! What an idea--putting them in the fridge! I guess it wouldn't be any worse than a cold night, like you said. Very clever!

Amazing !!!

This is such a beautiful picture.
I like the bright colors and the sharp details of the butterfly against the blurred background.

Great work , regards,

Ricardo
