Roger, about "raw," I just read a long article about the forthcoming rangefinder digital camera from Epson and Cosina (Voigtlander), the RD-1. The designers say that it is intended specifically for those who will want to work with "raw" data images and control development themselves--sort of ties in with the largely "manual" controls. The raw software is proprietary to Epson and uses a three-dimensional processing space (on the PC the image is uploaded to, not on the camera itself) so that, say, flesh tone pinks can be modified without pulling the greens out of balance--that kind of thing. Looks very interesting. They are using colour processing knowhow from their printer technology. Should be worth watching.
