I like this for the clever composition you choose, first issuing light and then regarding composition itself; no, Roger the choice to have silhouttes without the light going on is better, then the great row of people watching at the circle game (or at sunset?) is a beatiful choice

Hi Roger, I agree with Roger W. If the lights had been on, the viewers attention would've been diverted from the fiery colours in the sky to the motion of the ferriswheel, creating a completely different atmosphere. I like it as it is.
Judging by the lines in the bench, the photo is slightly tilted though. I also think that a sectional view of the ferris wheel could possibly increase the tension in it.
I feel a bit ambiguous on this part though. In the attached crop I tried to create that tension, but in doing so, I feel I compromise the colours of the sky too much. Besides, the person in blue, sitting by herself already adds a bit of that tension, and both are sacrificed to create the sectional view of the ferriswheel. Hope you see what I mean....
Very interesting shot... Well captured, and very well exposed.

Nah. Good as it is. If they'd switched the lights on earlier, fine. But you were right to spot this wonderful opportunity and wise not to let it slip by you. It's joining lots of your other photos in my favourites.
