Great job on noticing the shadow. I like the contrast of the blue sky and the warm sunset orange on the brick. It's difficult trying to catch "the shot" when the sun is setting so fast, and shadows are growing and moving just as fast. You saw it and caught it, Great job. Danny

Nice shot! I like the way the line of the tree's shadow is repeated by the rain gutter, only in a much more formal way (man's work vs. nature's...) You had a lot of choices as to which lines to keep 'straight' - the edge of the building, the ledges or roof line, etc. but I think you made the right choice of going with the shadow, which is the main subject here, anyway. If I were to suggest anything different, it would be to maybe crop off the little piece of roofline on the left, since it doesn't really contribute anything to the composition. You could also try one without the greenery at the bottom, to reinforce the starkness of the image. Nicely done - you've got a good eye!

Really interesting shadow! Any chance of reshooting this with the wall and the shadow only? No sky :-)

Very cool idea. I'm not sure I like the angles of the roof and the left side. Perhaps if you took the picture so the roof was flat or so the left wall was at the same angle as the rain spout I would find the whole thing more appealing. I think that would really emphasize the twisted tree. Just my opinion :) As a whole it is a very inventive shot!
