Thanks Phil. Actually Eggleston's one of my all time favorites - I've got Eggleston's Guide, Democratic Forest, and Los Alamos, and I never get tired of looking at those pictures.

A beauty in every sense. When you get the white balance set like this - leave it for a while and take lots of pictures.

Great title that I would definitely apriciate coming from Ireland and only viewing this type image on TV from my idea of America. Have you ever looked at William Eggleston? I think he would like your stuff. I can see why this one is getting so many hits, makes me want to shoot some more colour work myself as lately its all black and white. Great image, great eye...

Thanks Andreas. Actually these are the colors straight out of the digital camera with a custom white balance. No photoshop except a little desaturation (no hue adjustments). I've found you can get all sorts of strange colors if you manually set the white balance to something other than a white surface. I think I set this to the light blue sky. Would have been better done with film and filters...maybe next time.
I really do appreciate your generosity in the offer of the camera, but right now I have more cameras than I can deal with. But thank you for the offer.
(ps... I really like the little car series on your site...)

Thanks Andy. It's was a digital camera with a custom white balance. I should have put that in the comments.

cool - if you like such colors and want to get them without postprocessing in Photoshop, I would have a 35 mm camera for you that makes the thing: Vivia, a USSR plastic camera with glass lens. If you want to have it (see details on my website), email me, its free for you, shipping included - I think you would make the best with it - best wishes, Andreas

I find this oddly interesting. The golden light suggests late afternoon. The orange-yellow colors predominate. The scene is somehow so ordinary, so gritty and real, that I find it a little depressing. Is this an old print that has faded?
