About This is a straight shot taken with a 70-200 Canon IS Zoom at 1/6oth sec.
I saw the bird land and I knew my cat was on the roof somewhere. I started focusing frantically just as the cat appeared. In that fraction of a second the bird was off. I got the one shot and the cat got nuthin :)

Great capture, glad you were able to get it. I love the black and blue, other colors would have been distracting and would have lessened the impact. It's really a beautiful photo.

A brilliant spur of the moment shot you have here, lucky bird and bad luck cat - maybe next time! Wouldn't that make an interesting shot if your around for that.

Dear David,First of all great shot.It takes a sharp eye to catch a scene like this.I really like many of your other shots looking over your work. Also, I wanted to thank you for the supportive comment.I don't want to say too much in an open forum like this but things are getting very strange around here.People like yourself, I'm sure most(if not all)of your fellow Australians as well as the rest of the "thinking" world see and know what's going on. Yet,somehow at least 1/2 of the people here don't have a clue. There's a small group in this country that's kind of taking over and it's very...unbelievable. I'm sure you know who and what I'm talking about. Anyway, you're lucky to live in such a lovely country having been there about 5 times myself over the years. From Perth to Darwin, Alice Springs to Cairns and of course all the larger cities along the east coast down to Melbourne. Look forward to coming again hopefully in early 2005 when I will have built up enough frequent flyer miles on this program American Airlines has with Qantas and Cathay Pacific (since I usually go up to S.E.Asia after starting in Australia). It's alot of miles for 2 seats so it's gonna take some time. Thanks again and lets just hope a certain "cowboy" doesn't start World War III in the next few months. If you want some really good details check out that web site I mentioned on Jim's page.It has some little known and sometimes shocking facts.I'd sign off with "No worries mate" but unfortuntely there's alot to worry about these days so lets just hope we make it to 2005.Take care, Mark

Brilliant! Apart from the arial, it could be an illustration to a Poe short story. :-) Very good indeed.
