Now it`s seriously hot I`m going thru old albums and saving yellowing prints-this was black and white,later toned in photo shop.This was before the fishermen on the Algarve (Portugal) got together to buy tractors(see previous photo)They moved the fishing boat higher up the beach by putting wooden blocks under the keel of the boat-the blocks having a U-shaped indentation along which the keel ran.You can see a man bending down to place the block at the front of the boat.
When I see this picture and then think of all the technology we have now....just amazes me the large jump people have taken in such a short period of time....I like this image alot....a sense of teamwork and community pushes through to me as well as the rigorous life these men share.
