i'm not sure it's so much "out of focus". i think the issue here is the reflections on the crystal face of the watch. that blue sky (it is the sky i see, right?) is washing out the face and making seem "out of focus. i can also see the lens which adds to this issue. i would either shoot this indoors or with the lens pointed straight down or both. i'm not sure if you intended it this way or not but using a deeper DOF (say f/16 or f/22) and a longer exposure would also make the whole face of the watch be in focus. beware, tho, at this speed you will get motion on the second hand. take a look at my portfolio where a similar shot.

Sorry stephen but could not rate your pic higher because it is out of focus, I would suggest you invest in a copy stand, you can easily make one from an old enlarger.
