One of my favorite tropical trees (Terminalia tomentosa, now referred to as Terminalia crenulata), for its beautiful bark patterns. This tree, found throughout India yields good timber. But why would anyone wanna cut a tree with such amazing bark & shade to admire it under?! .....knowing fully well, it takes generations to grow one, and in a matter of few minutes you can bring it down to turn it into an aweful-looking.... center table perhaps...:(!
Sudhir, what an amazing tree. I agree with you - why would anyone cut down something so glorious? I can tell you have a real love for all things in nature. I appreciate the comment on my photo. I wanted to let you know that that plant is called a tibouchina urvilleana. Also referred to as a Glory Flower or Princess Flower. Regards, Linda
Hope nobody turns my dear crocodile bark tree into an awful centre-table! Nice capture, Sudhir... and thanks for the thoughtful comment. It looks like people don't care enough for their environment... but one day the environment is going to turn the (centre)tables on them. Cheers, Hanna
