Chris-- you're absolutely right!-- this is "my kind" of photo. It's magnificent-- a wonderful capture of stormy weather-- and involving the sea. Catching that seagull was certainly a "decisive moment" too. Thanks for pointing this one out to me!! It's going into my favorites-- excellent shot. Cheers. Craig

Wooooh - what a terrific shot, and as Selina said, the seagull is an absolutely essential part of this composition. Just try putting your thumb over the bird, and immediately it loses some of its impact.
Well done all round !!

Great image.
Tricky thing, the stormy sea - how to avoid getting drenched but getting that perfect shot !
I've tried and failed many a time here in Brighton and just end up with not very exciting images.
I could clearly learn something from you !
Oh and the seagull sets it off perfectly.

Regards, Selina

What a wonderful capture, Chris! I felt on the thumbnail already that this is a really special photo, and I'm NOT disappointed! Great composition, especially with the bird that adds so much! But the colour tones, the compositio, the strong mood of storm, the wet reflections... everything is really great!

I don't think I would have dared stand so close. This is an astonishing tour de force, a wonderful record of a storm. Quite exceptional. And deserves a place in my favourites! Aha! I see that of 24 people who have seen it, four have put it in their favourites. That tells you something of the impact of this wonderful picture. Bravo!

Excellent composition. Very nice DoF. I really love the seagull in the upper left hand corner. For me it adds even more 'movement' to the photo. Personally, I would just think about cutting out an inch or so from the bottom part of the photo, but that's personal liking. Best regards, Tomasz
