Hi Jen,

This is the problem when you shoot into the sun. It under-exposes the foreground. You also got lens flare. This is the product of shooting at the wrong time of day. What if the sun was in another position? See what I mean. I like your idea of the comp. of this photo. Keep trying...

Ever been to McConnell's Mills? It's a great place to spend the day, lots of nice shots to find and take. I have a few more I took that day, but am not real satisfied with them, including a covered bridge shot. Take a day to go, I am sure you will enjoy it. Real easy to find if you know PA.
