You've gotten some fair criticisms - as to why people like it - I think it is the oval shape and the echo created by the branch on the right-hand side of the frame...I also think that the DOF that skips over the interior (but the fact that you left us an interior) is good too...

I love the light and scenes framed by doors and windows, and this "hole" is special. About the sky: I know this is a difficult shot, with maximum and minimum lights and shadows.. so the sky doesn?t matter. Original idea, good eyecatching. Thank you for your comments and critiques, and forgive my bad english. Carmem

Thanks everyone for the comments, I definitely agree that the sky is washed. I can't remember if I shot this with a polarizer or before I bought one, plus the f-stop should have been around an 11, possibly. I'l try and shoot it again this summer.

I agree with Randy. The natural masking makes the photo. I would love to see it with a blue sky beyond. Nice work.

Well this is a really nice composition with a sort of natural framing. You have a great shot here if you could shoot it again with sharper focus and without blown-out white areas.......Randy
