Yes ! Beautiful... I have taken many shots like this one between 1990 and 1994, and I must say, that I would be proud to have this one in my collection. Extremely nice.
Side comment: it appears you are using Velvia for such portraits, and so did I, at that time... Many times, I was told that it wasn't good for skin tones, but I personally often found this irrealistic look pretty valuable... I wonder what's your take on that ? It looks like we would agree, no...? What do others feel about it ? Regards, and congrats. I love this.

Wonderful colors. It's very sad, that this little girl, who's not very old has this much responsibility. It makes me think how easy our children in the USA have it. A lot of emotion here. Great shot.

Just the right DOF, the lighting is wonderful, and the log is placed so it looks like she's emerging from somewhere. Pretty near perfect!

Yes you managed to combine colour with journalism well. Often in journalism photos colours are distracting, but here they are harmonious and they make us focus on the depiction and expression of the girl.
