10+ in my opinion - dreamy - evocative, simply beautiful - the flood filter is used to such great advantage

A very beautiful Chinese-like image. It looks like the finest porcelain. A work of art.

This is really wonderful, Tess... The title, incidentally, says a lot less than the image... For once a really romantic nature shot... Doesn't need a romantic title on top of it...:-) Congrats anyway - splendid !

Very cool Tess. My vote would be for the toned versionbut without the reflection. Very creative. Wish IR were as easy with these 'old fashioned' film cameras.

I love what you did with this Tess. I think I like the PS one better, seems to show more detail, and gives it depth. Thanks for telling me about this site.

This reminds me of a sci-fi/fantasy novel, "The Warlock Unlocked"(Ace Publishing, 1982, in which Christopher Stasheff writes:
"Then whatever she was saying faded away. Rod turned back towards her, frowning...
...and found himself staring at the trunk of a tree.
A white trunk, white as a birch, but corrugated like an oak ---and the leaves were silver.
Rod stared.
Then slowly, he looked up, and all about him; all the trees were just like the first. They towered above him, spreading a tinsel canopy between himself and the sun; it tinkled in the breeze."
Okay, so your trunk isn't white, but you certainly have created a fantasy setting which would make a person look around in wonder. Very cool. Very provocative. This really fires the imagination.
Welcome to Usefilm, Tess.

Infrared gives an other-worldly impression. This works well here. I like the reflection in the bottom of the frame. It contributes to the out of this world feel to the piece. Very cool picture!

Tess. I like this photo alot. I sort of wish I could see more of the top of the tree as well but in the same time I feel that the composition you have now seems more balanced than if you had the whole tree in the frame. How did you do the IR effect in PS? I don't know how to do this. It looks real and very nice. It makes the colours seem very cool and surreal. Bye!

The colors in this are beautiful. I love the mood this image is giving me. I would have to agree with Chris though about the reflection at the bottom; I find it more distracting than anything. With all PSed imaged I'm curios as to what the original looks like. If you don't mind posting the original, I'd love to see, and also know what excactly you changed about this image.

Hi Tess,
Really nice - sparks my imagination off - I can imagine I'm seeing a figure coming out of the base of the treetrunk, or the tree itself is almost stretching out arms. The infrared effect makes it all quite ghostly, but still real enough you could imagine a world with trees like this. My only little quibble would be the reflective bottom of the image, which doesn't quite gel for me - its a little too reflective and leaves the tree kind of hanging, missing any sign of roots or base. Just my opinion, think the rest of it is very well realised.
Chris
