It was a beautiful sunny day last Sunday. Great day to get a few Honey Bee images. Very rare to see them out at this time of the year. Nikon D100, Nikon 105mm 2.8d Mirco-NIkkor, ISO-200, Used my tripod as a monopod (need to get a monopod), 1/50th @ f/13, White Balance: Cloudy +3 (to give warmth to the image), Background: Partly cloudy sky and some water oak limbs with brown leaves. NEF Raw File, PS: Cropping, USM and saturation adj. Cropped from horizontal to vertical, Location: My Backyard, Date/Time: 12/21/03 @ 1:40pm
I've admired your shots for some time and this is one of my favorites. The composition is great, the design flow from top to bottom and out to the sides is very soothing. The colors compliment each other too, the soft browns and greens go so well together. One thing I've noticed in many of your pics is that you are able to emphasize the main subject without making the backgrounds boring, they are soft yet interesting. and do not intrude. The detail on the bee is super, love the wings. Although this would be appropriate in a science magazine I would rather see it in a coffee table art book.
Fantastically beautiful macro composition Ronnie. Great sharpness and DOF. Most wonderful colors, lighting and details. Superb work....Best regards Harry
